The large no of ftp users the more load on the web server. Most of the servers also restrict the no of connections a ftp user can make to the web server and gap or timeout between retries. But free web host put heavy restrictions on usage of ftp users. Some of them restrict the no of ftp users to 1 per website.

If your website hase large no of video and audio files or pictures, bandwidth usage will be high (depend on how many views you video file gets). Most of the web hosting companies gives you a lot of bandwidth. If you are owning a personal website the bandwidth usage hardly exceed 5gb. A business website may demand more bandwidth. Large webhosts might exceed 5gb in disk space (only text files). And the no of page view is more than million. Which consumes large amount of bandwidth. Large companies lease dedicated hosting where bandwidth is redundant ( twice or thrice the amount of bandwidth required).

But if you have video files or audio file sthey might occupy more space(ranges from 5mb to grater than 1gb) and pictures occupy large space.  So you have to choose yur plan according to the no of pages you are going to put on your website. Most of the time 5 gb will be a lot of space for personal webhosting. If you are starting a business website i suggest you take some good plan with redundant webspace (as you will be adding video tutorials or audio files to enhance your web functionality). Disk space is one of the limited resource available in webhosting. Most of the webhosting companies limits your webhosting space or charge you for each of 5Gb or 1GB extra space.
